Hello, I would like help on starting my Windows Firewall for XP Professional. When I try to start it, it says: "Windows Firewall settings cannot be displayed because the associated service is not running. Do you want to start the Windows Firewall/Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) service? Yes/No" When I click yes, it says: "Windows cannot start the Windows Firewall/Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) service." I really do not know what I am doing wrong, or whether it is my computer that has a problem, or my Windows Firewall. I have AVG Free, version 8.5.435. However, when I look at the security components/status overview, the Firewall component is missing.

AVG Free doesn't have a firewall component. Start with making sure your computer is malware-free. I'm assuming this is a home computer, not on a domain. If my assumption is incorrect then see your domain administrator (usually the IT Dept.).
