Want to return to Windows Home after Windows Professional trial - now I my original product key is rejected - and time is running out
Help Appreciated! About sixty days ago I mindlessly downloaded a 90 day trial of Windows Professional for Windows 7. Recently I clicked on the "check to see if this Windows is genuine" (to get it to go away) and now it's asking for a product key or to buy the software. I don't need the professional level. I want to go back to what came with my laptop in 2009: Windows Home. How do I remove the Windows Professional, return to the original (genuine) with the product key for the original version?

Did you receive a User's Manual with your laptop? If so, did you read it to see if your laptop has a "Recovery" feature; most of them do. If you invoke the Recovery procedure, it will restore your laptop to the state it was when you bought it. If you cannot locate your Owner's/User's Manual, then go to the support website of the manufacturer of your laptop and find the information there for download or go to the manufacturer's support forums website. The only method to "remove" Win 7 Pro is to wipeout the install and start over - that's what the Recovery procedure does. You do not have a Windows 7 Miscellaneous problem! Your problem is a result of you "upgrading" to Win 7 Pro!Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
