Want to Prevent Future Attacks
Hi. We are muddling thru a machine recovery that involves xp professional. We finally got internet access after locating and installing the motherboard manufacturer's chipset drivers. The originals were accidentally thrown in the garbage. We went to install Windows Essentials thinking that would be a great defense against the attacks that got us into this trouble. We got an error about compatibility between Essentials and our version of the OS. Are we doomed to either live with AVG (which from my understanding only protects us after the fact and is one of 3 lines of defense in Essentials) or purchase a 3rd party product that protects us better and more in real time against attack? Or is there a way to make xp professional compatible with Windows Essentials? 1 person needs an answerI do too
