Wacom Tablet and Pen Flicks
IS this hardware problem? i dont think so, becasue my hardware is working, the wacom application is picking it up and configuring my tablet as it always has.Software? im not sure either, because the software is what is on windwos 7 for the pen flicks am i right?I cannot get the two to work. My tablet is installed, doesnt realy matter what it is, but if you must not its a CTF-221 or PenPartner2. WHich ever, but i can instal the DTF or basically any other driver, the interface is the same, theres still 2 pen buttons etc.Basically, it understands there is a tablet installed, as pen flicks comes up, and is enabled. If i go to practice, and try to use pen flicks, it says im using a mouse, stopusing my mouse to do it, and use my pen.I managed to get it to work in 6801, on 64bit, which is also what im on now, just the rc1 instead.i liked being able to use that little handwrity thing, to write and it put text into stuff by recognising my handwriting, however bad it is.ive tried different approaches to teh install, trying 64bit drivers, vista drivers etc, with no success at all.i have UAC off, im installing with administrative privilages, ive tried compatability mode for vista, and xp all the options, and i have no antivirus software because im very happy with my boot time being less than 40 seconds.it's a 64bit pc, asus 5kpl-cm, e5200 (intel 2.5ghz) with 4gb of ram, if anything, makes any difference at all.

Hi GaneyLooking at the Wacom drivers download website, it appears that Wacom is not currently supporting Windows 7 with compatible drivers at this time.Windows 7 includes many changes for the Pen Input and Touch technology. All of the extensibility is there, but drivers that support the new extensions must be updated for compatibility. If you go to our Windows 7 Forums Category page and enter 'Wacom' in the Search Forums box at the top of the page, you will see several threads from other Wacom tablet users who have previously posted that you can read for more information. It is an unfortunate side effect when testing a new betaOS, that Hardware Driver support always lags behind released builds of the beta. This is expected since the code for the OS must be done before the drivers can be built by the respective IHV's (Independent Hardware Vendors), such as Wacom.Microsoft works closely with thousands of these vendors toassistin building compatible drivers for their products.Keep an eye on the Wacom Drivers Download Website for the new drivers to appear.Hope this helps.Thank You for testing Windows 7 Ronnie Vernon MVP

Hi. It seems that pen flicks and handwriting recognition are no longer work is when a tablet is in Mouse mode. wacom tablets have the option to switch between the two. I just re-installed and an currently using the tablet. in tablet mode and it worked fine to write this. Thanks for your quick response, Mike.
