WMI Call EnableStatic does not detect IP address conflict on Vista
I'm trying to change the IP address of a network card by calling the WMI function EnableStatic (Win32_NetworkAdapterConfiguration). It works perfectly on XP and Server 2k3.On Vista machines, I was also able to set the IP address but I come across with a situation where the IP address to be set on the network card is already being used on the network. It does not return any error and successfully configures its IP. I've verified the same set up on XP machines and it returns error #81 - Unable to configure DHCP service. By the way, I used WMI CIM Studio to test the scripts before I put it into code. I'd appreciate any help on this. Thanks!
