WLAN issues - Win7Prox64SP1 - Dell Precision M6500
hi all,
I am having a bit of a nightmare with a Dell Precision M6500 machine running Windows 7 Pro x64 SP1.
Basically whenever I reboot/shutdown the machine the WiFi NIC gets disabled.
Machine has:
Ethernet NIC: Broadcom NetXtreme 57xx Gigabit
Dell Wireless 1510 Wireless-N WLAN mini-Card
- Both NICs have “allow the computer to turn off this device to save power” disabled.
- WLAN-AutoConfig service reports on eventvwr, which I suspect could be a driver issue.
EventID 10002
WLAN Extensibility Module has stopped.
Module Path: C:\Windows\System32\bcmihvsrv64.dll
However I have used the latest drivers from Dell, but still no joy
I kinda of run out of ideas really.
Help is appreciated

What does Dell support have to say?
You have the business support for this machine. You have the latest drivers. Start a ticket with Dell.
Is there a Dell Control Point setting that turns off the wireless?
Check a BIOS setting for the device?
Are you using the A06 BIOS from Dell?

Hi,
Thanks for the post.
As Nano says, please try to update the BIOS first.
Also, you may refer to the following article.

If the issue still occurs, please contact your computer manufacturer, or the manufacturer of your wireless network adapter for the most recent adapter drivers.
