WLAN deleted! Can't use wireless internet!
I was recently a victim of a rogue file which basically deleted my WLan off windows. It is hard to explain but I have the hardware i.e. i use a belkin dongle and I also have the belkin software to set up a wireless network but the software that windows uses to search for and support a wireless connection just seem to be gone! When I would put in my dongle it would have the symbol on my taskbar to search for wireless connections, however I just don't have the ability to search anymore. It is hard to elaborate much but I physically saw the file delete my WLan. Before I could cancel the file (and also my anti-virus for missing it) it only deleted that. ---------- EDIT ----------- I tried a system restore but the "anchor" points were after this had all happened.1 person needs an answerI do too

Are you sure this "rogue file" has been completely removed? What anti-virus software are you using? If you go into Device Manager (Control Panel | Devices as I recall) do you see the WLAN adapter listed under Network Adapters?-B- http://www.officeforlawyers.com Author: The Lawyer's Guide to Microsoft Outlook

If you still have the rogue program re-install it and then UNINSTALL using REVO UNINSTALLER use the MODERATE Uninstall Option (default) and you will be able to remove ALL the registry changes made by such rogue program, it will in effect release your kidnnaped network connection. You can download REVO at:REVO UNINSTALLERGood LUCK!
