WLAN Channel 13 Network not found
Im using Windows 7 on a MSI-VR630 notebook with an integrated Realtek wlan-adapter. My wireless network sends over the channel 13. My network is not in the list of found networks. If I turn my router to channel 11 Windows finds the network instantly. Im using the driver which was installed automaticly with Windows 7. So i think there is an driver problem with the integrated driver. In Windows Vista with the driver from Realtek there isnt this problem. Do you allready know this problem?

Depending on where you live, the available channels might be restricted from channel 1 to channel 12. In some countries, you can use channels 13 and 14. However, I have no idea how to configure Windows to control what channels are usable by the WLAN NIC firmware/hardware.

This may be controlled by the regional settings you specified when you installed Windows 7. Go to Help and Support from the Start Orb and search forchange countryChange to a country that supports wireless channels 1 to 13. There is a linkhere about wireless channels. Note that using channels not allowed for your country may be illegal. You may need to also install a driver for your wireless NIC that is country specific.Kerry Brown MS-MVP - Windows Desktop Experience

Kerry,Do you know how to tell if the Wireless NIC is able/configured to use channels 1-13? Is this a propery exported by the driver that can be seen? I confess I'm clueless here.

I live in Canada so I'm limited to channels 1 to 11. I have no experience with using other channels. I am just going by what I have read regarding wireless standards, Sorry. Kerry Brown MS-MVP - Windows Desktop Experience
