Never heard about this magical return yet. More probably you have side by side installation
and this time was that od Vista. Try to use EasyBCD and set booting according to your wish.

Hi,
Did you make any changes before this issue occur? Did you make a dual boot system ?
Before you answer my question, you can try the below suggestions:
Open the CMD with administrator rightCopy bcdboot c:\windows /l en-us and press Enter(if you install Windows 7 in other driver, for example D, you should change C to D)
Hopes it can help you.
Best Regards.

I guess there was no Windows 7 Installed in your system anytime, only a transformation pack was applied over vista. So you had the visual effects of Windows 7, Just to confirm, Please run the below command from command mode..
systeminfo>>c:\Info.txt && c:\Info.txt
And Check the Below Parameters..
OS Name: Microsoft Windows 7 Enterprise
OS Version: 6.1.7600 N/A Build 7600

OS Configuration: Standalone Workstation
Original Install Date: 7/30/2011, 11:44:22 PM
System Boot Time: 8/7/2012, 1:56:09 PM
