I had the .LNK extension at the end of everything on my computer I downloaded a reg fix and it worked great, however, I did something and cannot access the internet. I did the manual TCP and winsoc and text reset. still no connection I am not sure which reg or config will take me to the problem the fastest. I did do a system restore and got all my icons and task bar items back, seems like the all the rest of the software is working fine just the internet both hard and wireless. I am not a computer smart but not affarid to take a direction to get this done, any help would be greatly appreacited I have gone through so many answers but to no avail, Help, please thanks R2G

The first thing we need to check if you are getting a valid ip or not. Got to command prompt and do an ipconfig Check what is the ip you are getting. If you are getting a valid ip address then see if you can ping the default gateway or not. If not able to ping the DG then go to Device manager and check the status of the NIC card. If you see a yellow exclamation mark then repair and adaptor install Or Uninstall and reinstall the adaptor and check

Think probably you did not configure network adapter or wireless adapter correctly, and so didn't able to connect to network successfully. Check out how to use this simple ping tool to troubleshoot the network problem and locate the root cause, finally solve the problem. Hope this helps.
