WINDOWS 7 WONT BOOT
My windows 7 wont boot up. I get a blue screen and any restore point I try to go to I get an error0x8000ffff. It wont let me in safe mode either. My log shows everythings ok except that a pach is preventing windows from starting up. It was working fine last night and I did download an update this morning turned it off and now it wont work. Thanks. Blue screen shows 0x0000007b

Error 0x0000007b is generated because Windows 7 is missing the driver for your hard drive disk controller. If you have your controller set to either RAID or to AHCI in the BIOS, then the system usually needs a driver. You should be able to go into the BIOS and change it to IDE and Windows should then boot-up.Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. Then the only solution I am aware of is to re-install Windows 7.Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. This can be beneficial to other community members reading the thread.

U have to set mode Compatibility in or BIOS.. Try to do that.. IDE is the Compatibility mode for SATA drives and usually does not require any additional drivers for the controller. AHCI and RAID are not considered Compatibility Modes and usually require additional drivers for these modes.
