WINDOWS 7 DELETES ALL THE EXE FILES I DOWNLOAD BY IEXPLORER AND FIREFOX
I have installed windows 7 on a compaq 3600 series and works fine (windows 7 downloaded all the drivers and updates), but i had problems installing the antivirus, i coudn't install norton is not compatible with windows 7, so i decided installing avg antivirus and updated the virus definition no problem with that, so i installed firefox last update and some plug-ins like downloader statusbar (that display the currents downloads on the statusbar of firefox)The problem is this after i download a exe file, the avg antivirus scan it for virus, windows 7 or firefox does it, just i don't know witch one. (i noticed this because in firefox statusbar the icon of my download changes) so after the scanning the file is deleted and i can't install the program the weird thing is that the avg antivirus, firefox or windows 7 don't display a message about it, if it was deleted because a virus was found or any thing.I only can execute the file when i copied to the same or different path while is being scanned before it is deleted. I have checked the config about the downloader statusbar, firefox, the avg antivirus, and windows 7. And i don't know what to do.----------

Your text reads as though you are shouting at us. :-(Anywho, have you checked C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\Virtualized, etc.? Very often things that are downloaded outside the Trusted Sites zone will be redirected their to protect your system. Here is a fun article about it, too: http://blogs.technet.com/markrussinovich/archive/2009/02/03/3174194.aspx (It's for Vista, but I'm not aware that it's changed must in 7. Enlighten me if I'm wrong, please).

sorry about the caplocks but i'm new on this forum.ok, first i have to check to disable the avg antivirus first (egads), after the Trusted Sites (SBattaglia) to see if the downloaded files are in that path, and if that doesn't work check the link for Windows Vista and the difference between Vista and 7.I'll post the results.THX for the advice.

I have to ask, are you sure that the .EXE file you downloaded is virus free? Have you checked with other downloads using known good sources? Is it just one particular .EX file that gets deleted or all downloaded .EXE files (regardless of source)?

OrozcO said: BUT WHAT IS WRONG WITH CAPSLOCK IN THIS CASE. HiPosting in ALL CAPS in an online forum is thesame asSCREAMING. It is like walking up to a stranger and screaming in their face. It is considered very rude. This also makes your messagedifficult to read.I edited your first message to compare. See how much nicer and easier to read that is?Thank you for understanding. the AVG anti virus has no disable option so i end the process but not at all, because the process still in memory so the problem continue, so i decide to uninstall avg but i got the same results, now i ran windows update and a new video driver was detected, but when it was installing the file a error ocurred and a blue screen error appears windows collected some info about the error and after just restart knowing about this was a critical error becuase took so much time (30 min to fix the problem) to fix the windows problem so i restart in safe-mode and the same problem with the exe file, even in another path like a usb-stick.i know that is a beta but is having a lot of problem on my system i'm thinking to go-back to win xp, in fact i tought this could be happen so i burn a dvd with the entire image of mi old-win xp system i will wait about a couple of days to resolve this issue or otherwise do the last step, go back.as last fact i installed spybot and malwarebyte's and run a check system to catch some issues, maybe the problema was generated before installing the antivirus. and spyware o malware is affecting my system.thx for the advice.
