WINDOWS 7-DAMAGED INSTALLATION DISK
I BOUGHT WINDOWS 7 HOME PREMIUM (UPGRADE FROM VISTA) FROM WALMART-AROUND JANUARY OF THIS YEAR. I PURCHASED (FOR $10) THE INSURANCE SO THAT IF ANYTHING HAPPENED TO THE PRODUCT (FOR THE NEXT YEAR) I COULD GET A REPLACEMENT. WELL-I JUST MOVED (AND SHODDILY AT THAT! I LIVED IN A DUPLEX AND MY NEIGHBORS SET FIRE TO THEIR SIDE-SO-NEEDLESS TO SAY-I HAD ABOUT 12HRS TO MOVE). ANYWAYS-MY COMPUTER GOT SOAKED WHILE THE FIREMEN WERE TRYING TO PUT OUT THE INDOOR BAR-B-QUE-AND WHILE I WAS MOVING-MY WINDOWS DISK GOT DAMAGED. NOT ONLY THIS-BUT ALL MY RECEIPTS AND IMPORTANT PAPERS WERE LOST AS WELL. WHAT DO I DO (BESIDES HAVING TO GO BACK AND SPEND ANOTHER $140 ON WIN 7) TO BE ABLE TO RE-ESTABLISH THE COMPUTER THAT I NOW HAVE. IVE TRIED INSTALLING WINDOWS 7 FROM THE DISK TO NO AVAIL-AND IVE TRIED 3 DIFFERENT DVD/CD READERS. IM ON FILE WHEN I HAD TO ACTIVATE IT. SHOULD I GO THERE? SOAKED-SATIN1331

Hey Satin. Well, I'm sorry to here about this unfortunate situation. That really sucks! But anyways, so you moved and have no way of going to the same Walmart where you purchased Windows 7 originally?? If that's the case than you can just go to any Walmart and explain the situation. Every store is supposed to keep a copy of customers' receipts in case they have lost it. And you can tell this Walmart to contact the one where you bought it, and have them look you up in the system. They should be able find your proof of purchase, along with the warranty payed for. If they can't find your info, then you may be able to get a copy of the EXACT version of Windows 7, upgrade or full as well, and if you use your product key you should be able to activate it successfully! Now on the otherhand, if you don't have the product key, you may be SOL??!! If you go to Walmart please post a reply to what happened as I'm curious to see if they do store customers' receipts. They should! I lost a receipt for some things I purchased at CompUSA, and they looked me up and found the receipt!! Good luck!!!!

If you have your Product Key, I suggest you contact our Sales Office and they will help you on this. Microsoft U.S. Office Locations If your key is lost either, I suggest you contact your vendor (Walmart) to try to find your Product Key back before contacting Microsoft Sales Office.Arthur Xie - MSFT
