WIN7 WiFi connection problem
Hi! I have just received a new HP Pavilion G6 computer. After starting it up and trying to connect to my WiFi, the following happened: 1. I typed in the security key and after 1s, it said Windows cannot connect to this network. 2. I retried to connect a million times, playing with the network preferences, turning of Windows Firewall and Auto-Tune 3. Nothing works and every time I try to connect, I get a "Cannot connect to this network" pop-up less than a second after I had typed in the security key. I have another computer which connect with no problem (WIN XP) and it asks me for the key two times. Reading the forums I see a lot of users have problems with their WiFi, but non quite as me. Please help me asap.

Hi Arash! Thank you for trying to help; it still did not work - what do you mean by settings of router? Where do I write them? I did double click IPv4 but do not know what to write in. EDIT: I tried this: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-networking/ive-recently-installed-windows-7-rc-over-a-vista/5a1e05d7-c39a-4b53-8a48-05a75c746388 and it still does not work. Is there anything else I can do? Thanks!

Hi, Based on my research, please try the following steps: 1. Please update youre NIC drive to the latest , try the built-in troubleshooter and see how them work. If the built-in troubleshooter cannot help, please provide us the detailed error messages in the troubleshooter. For more information, please refer to Troubleshoot network connection problems and Wired and wireless network connection problems in Windows. 2. Please refer to What are the different wireless network security methods?, change the type of encryption to WPA2 and see how it works. 3. If issue persists, please refer to How do I find a network thats not on the list of available networks, try to manually create a network profile and see how it works. Hope this helps.
