WIFI Problems
Okay. I am a Network Administrator at a Boys and Girls Club. We are having some problems with out wireless internet access points. We have two different networks, one staff network and one student network. The wireless access points are about 6 feet from one another in the ceiling, one set on channel 1, and the other on channel 11. Both of the networks work perfectly fine, until about 3:00 pm when the students show up. After they show up, the staff network loses most of it's connection, and the student network loses all of it. Both SSID's still display full signal, while web connectivity is very limited, if any. Me and the other Network Admin are picking our brains, and we could use all the help we could get. This is something neither me, nor him have ever encountered.

Hi, Does the issue occur on each machine or certain machine? Please replace another machine and connect to the Wireless network for a test first. If not, please perform the following steps to troubleshoot the issue. 1. Bypass the Wireless router and connect to DSL modem via wired cable to check the result. If still not, the issue can be caused by ISP. 2. Upgrade the router’s firmware and reload its settings. If the issue persists, please run “IPCONFIG /ALL” on certain problematic machine and post the result here for research. Thanks, Novak

Hi Well I can think of one scenario. Something like three 3 Mb/sec. DSL connection split into two APs each used by more than 10 people. Might not bother the APs but the internet bandwidth for each user would be dismal. It can be other scenarios too, but who knows, you did not provided more details about the networks.
