WDS 0xc0000001 Error

I'm having issues with setting up a Windows 8 WDS delpoyment.

Basically we already have a working windows 7 image. It works fine on our wds machine (Windows Server 2008 R2)

I created a new image and captured it from Windows 8 Pro Media.

It seemingly finishes the first part of the install prefectly, but during the first reboot we get a 0xC0000001 error code. I've searched the event logs and they are blank. The boot log is non-existant and I've run out of ideas.

We've rebuilt the image 3 times and I've created new Unattend file like 4 times. Help!

Hi Karl,

did you guys ever find a solution? I have the exact same issue after setting up a Standalone WDS instance to install a ZTI 8.1 (1TI thanks to this bug)

In my situation, turning the VM off and on continues on the deployment happily, also during that 0xc0000001 screen, pressing F8 and choosing 1 (debugging) also boots in fine.

This error bug seems to not be related to the unattend file, but actually related (in my case) to how Windows 8.1 adjusts the boot order to start from a File (bootmgfw.efi)

My destination machine is a Hyper-V Core host, with the Gen2 VM's firmware boot order being adjusted at the time of the error prompt.

I also looked at Forums/en-US/winserversetup/threads incase you started this thread over there as suggested but could not find a thread.

please postback if you find a solution.

cheers
