If you value your time and weekend, make sure you have turned off auto update (big mistake on my side).

8.1 messes up your drivers and support can't help you, re-installing can if you're lucky lead to a functional operating system, but most likely you will have to refresh and re-install all your software.

If you try to call the support, they will transfer you to a paid service, but it's only 150$ for an annual subscription;)

I understand your pain. Without more information it is nearly impossible to help or at least guess where was problem. It is very useful to read some material before starting upgrade:
