WAN miniport ikev2, windows cannot load the driver - Pb for VPN connection
I am having problems with the driver software for my network adaptor WAN miniport (IKEv2). I am getting this error message: This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31). I try a lot of solutions I found on forums..., I reinstalledall the drivers of the others network adaptaters (Realtek PCIe GBE Controller, wifi etc.), but nothing changed, I still have the yellow ! in front of my ikev2 network adaptator. Eveything is fine on the laptop (Dell studio 14Z), I have internet etc. , but I cannot configure a new VPN connection, which is automaticaly changed as dial up connection by W7. It seems to be due to my WAN miniport (IKEv2) issue. I was able to do it in Vista befoer upgrading to W7. Any help? Do I need to downgrade to Vista ?!?! It seems it was better....

Hi, If it worked previously, a quick solution is to run System Restore and get back to the previous status when the issue didn’t occur. Based on my research, I would like to suggest the following: 1. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E972-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}\, find the subkey with WAN miniport (IKEv2) entry, export that key up and save a backup file on your desktop first, then delete the key. 2. Go to Device Manager and remove the problematic WAN miniport (IKEv2). 3. Reboot the computer and see if it works. If the issue still persists, please perform an in-place upgrade to repair it. Hope this helps. Thanks. Nicholas Li - MSFT

Hi, I got the same issue with the driver. Could not find the hotkey and the driver does not want to uninstall itself. System recovery did not work either. Got any tips for a fix? Thanks.

Nicholas Li - MSFT Ok I tryed this and still I can not delete it in Device Manager This system started out as Vista then I did an upgrade to win 7 this is a 64 bit and always has been I like most folks don't have lotts of time to spend fixing errors or the money to ship our computers out and have them fixed all the time. Why are their so many problems with this. don't they have people who know what is going on?? If not why not put warning lables on the OS saying may be bad for you health may take up many hours of time trying to get it to run. Oh well just part of the game I guess. I think I will get a pencil and paper and a big e-rase-or see I feel beter now I have vented. I bet this thread is too old and I will get no answer. Oh well I will just smile. 2of12
