WAN miniport (IKEv2) Code 31
I am having problems with the driver software for my network adaptor. WAN miniport (IKEv2). I believe it is what controls my IEEE port on front of computer. When I check the device I am getting this error message: This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31) When I try to update driver it says I already have the best driver. Wanted to know ifthere isa driver available to fix this problem or if there is something else affecting the port. I am running Window 7 64 bit with all available updates. Gigabyte is the maker of the motherboard running BIOS F1 and when using vista 64 bit the port worked. The port is on the front of the computer I believe it is the IEEE 1394 portand not an added hardware card. It is hardwired into the motherboard. I have left an email with gigabyte, they suggested I check with realtek for driver updates. I downloaded all their available updates with their wizard and still havea port with issues. Nothing has changed.

Hi, Thank you for posting. Regarding the WAN Miniport (IKEv2), it should be a networking related device and it is not related to the IEEE1394 port. For the WAN Miniport (IKEv2) issue, if your network connection works properly, we can safely ignore the issue. For the IEEE1394 port issue, to make it work properly, a proper driver is needed. Therefore, please check with the device manufacture and see if there is a Windows 7 driver for this device released. Thanks.Nicholas Li - MSFT

Hello Nicolas, I have a new Toshiba L555D-S7912 laptop which I just upgraded via the free Toshiba Windows 7 Home Premium upgrade offer that came with the laptop (Windows Vista 64-bit Home premium shipped). The Toshiba special upgrade DVD that shipped was basically an automated upgrade that required intermittent user interactive participation. The process took over 3-hrs, but worked relatively well, with the only real problems occuring with the networking stuff. I have the exact same problem as the other gent complained of, an exclamation next to the WAN miniport (IKEv2) entry with a code 31 message stating that it can't load the driver. I'm not surprsied since the driver shown is from 2006, and when you do a search it says the latest driver is loaded!?!?!?! I find that hard to believe!!! I have also tried to load the latest drivers for me built in Realtek wireless and wired devices, downloading the latest drivers from both the Realtek website and the Toshiba website, trying to install both of them since they are later than the drivers installed by the automated upgrade program. However, whenever I restart the system, Windows will reload the older drivers, and then I have to manually reconfigure the security info again to connect to my WEP network. I think telling users that if the network is functional they should just ignore the exclamation mark, and the fact that the drivers are way too old to function in windows 7 x64 because neither Realtek, Toshiba, or Microsoft wants to address this issue for the consumer so they can have a clean Device Manager. I had NO such problems with the original Vista Home Premium x64 software system running, and I don't see any reason why I should have this problem now without a fix being made available. I have tried in vain to fix this myself, but now all I have gotten for my efforts are my wireless adapter showing as #2, and the wireless profile showing as number 6 <sigh>. I can't even find anything I can delete so Windows will just go back to listing my adapter as the normal wireless name without the number 2, or my profile as the original profile, instead of now showing as profile number 6, even though there are no other profiles showing in the network and sharing utility <sigh>.
