WAB faulty. Windows XP
BODY { BACKGROUND-POSITION: left top; FONT-SIZE: 10pt; COLOR: #000000; BACKGROUND-REPEAT: no-repeat; FONT-FAMILY: Arial }I am having a problem with the windows address book - .WAB . It is corrupted/faulty. I can not access it from the outlook express message page. It has disappeared. But if I write an email and clik on the address icon the address book opens. I have tried uninstalling outlook express and also importing/exporting the address book, I tried to import an old version - all to no avail. If I open the address book and try to Edit/delete -It has a load of duplications of one contact(about 800 times), it does not remove the contacts. The info I have read says this is a windows protected file. - How can I delete it and start afresh? Any clues? Can I delete windows XP and reinstall it. Maybe use the transfer wizard - leaving out the email etc. 1 person needs an answerI do too

See if anything here helps: http://www.insideoe.com/files/wab.htm You can search for *~* and you should find a backup of the address book. You can rename it to give it a wab file extension and if its intact you can try replacing the wab file with that. I don't know if it will help your situation. You can also try setting up a new Identity (File | Identities) and see if things work better in that identity. steve "Jactwist" wrote in message news:20d83632-5309-431c-8929-5e47f311c969...BODY { BACKGROUND-POSITION: left top; FONT-SIZE: 10pt; COLOR: #000000; BACKGROUND-REPEAT: no-repeat; FONT-FAMILY: Arial }I am having a problem with the windows address book - .WAB .
