W7 Networking Issue
Ihave the same problem running 7000 on 1 desktop and 2 other desktopsrunning xp pro sp3the xp machines can see and access each other but nither can see or access the win7 machine and the win7 machine cant see or access either of the xp machines network hardware setup is:huawei SmartAX MT882 adsl router+ 8 port 10/00 unmanaged switchcomp 1 win7: windows 7 (7000)Marvell Yukon 88E8053 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller + 1.5mtr CAT5e to switchip: 192.168.xxx.2comp 2 XPproSp3:realtech 10/100 PCI Ethernet Controller + 10mtr CAT6 to switchip:192.168.xxx.3comp 3XPproSp3:realtech 10/100 PCI Ethernet Controller + 5mtr CAT5e to switchip:192.168.xxx.4common to each workgroup name : SPEEDSTREAM

Your Win7 machine is probably set to use a HomeGroup, which is not available to XP machines. Set the 7 machine to join a "Work Network"Rating posts helps other users Mark L. Ferguson MS-MVP

If the issue persists after you change the network location, I suggest that you access Control Panel\Network and Sharing Center, click Change advanced sharing settings. Enable Network Discovery and File Sharing.Arthur Xie - MSFT
