W7 Enterprise Cannot Access Network Shared Folders
After upgrading our office OS from XP Pro to W7 Enterprise, we can no longer access network shared folders when working remotely (using a VPN). We could using XP with no problems. When working remotely using the VPN on W7, we can access shared network printers. We use Active Directory. Here is the trouble shooting I have done so far: -Added complete domain admin rights to a test user. -Ensured all the shared folder properties, including security settings are correct. -In gpedit/Windows Settings/Security Settings/Local Policies/Security Options, peformed the following: --Disabled: Network Access: Restrict anonymous access to named pipes and shares --Disabled: Network Access: Do not allow anomyous enumeration of SAM accounts and shares Thanks, Pablo

Hi, Please understand that this is Windows Vista Forum. In order to get the answer effectively, it is recommended to submit a new question in Windows 7 Forum. Personally, you may take the following steps to have a test: 1. Check if you can access the share folder with “\\computer name\folder” or “\\IP Address\ folder” to open the files. 2. Test the issue in Clean Boot. 3. Check if the other computers can connect with each other.
