W7 - no network after hibernation
This is a repeatable problem. I hibernate. I turn on. My network card has the MSFT auto IP. I release / renew, does nothing. I reboot. Network is back just fine.

Hi, You can try to take the following steps to disable saving power function to test the problem. Disable Saving Power ========================== 1. Click Start, right click Computer and choose Properties. 2. Click Device Manager. 3. Navigate to your network adapter, right click it and choose Properties. 4. Choose Power Management tab. 5. Please uncheck Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power. 6. Restart the computer and test this issue again. If it works, the issue mostly can be caused by network adapter driver. It is recommended to install the latest network adapter driver to resolve the problem. Hope it helps.

Hi,After hibernation AND after sleep , also. I don't think it's a matter of NIC. I have tried with and without the facility of shuting down the NIC by the OS. When not activated, my NIC's leds are always on and blinking.I believe that responsible for that are the OS services. The message when trying to repair the issue is "The adapter NAME is not correctly configured to use the IP protocol" - which is NOTTRUE. Furthermore, this answer is given with or without the network cable plugged in. So, the said detection is FALSE. I have 2 NICs : one wired and the other wireless. The above message is shown for both of them , even the wireless connection is not activated.Only the reboot could make the OS to detect properly the NIC. It doesn't matter the NIC's driver : on VISTA it works.
