I'm using Lync for the Mac version 14.0.5.  Whenever the call begins my volume immediately goes to maximum.  I'm using Mac OS X 10.8.4.  Has anyone else seen this problem?  Any know how to fix it?

The one response I got there was "Go to Lync menu > Preferences > Audio. Are any of the settings there set to maximum?"

None of my preferences were set to maximum there.  However, just opening the Preferences caused my computer volume to go to whatever was set in the speaker volume settings.  That gives me a good way to lessen the problem but doesn't solve it.  I set the volume there to be fairly low so now when a Lync call starts my volume drops low and I adjust it.  This is a lot better than having it getting really loud (which hurts my ears).

Try to uninstall and reinstall the Lync for Mac.

Didn't get the notification of this recommended solution when it was posted for some reason.  Just tried it out and that seemed to work.  Thank you for the help :)

I've had this issue for quite a while.  I've tried to reinstall the client but the same thing. Are there any additional preferences under Library etc which should be deleted?

Currently running OS X 10.10 and Lync 14.0.9 (140606)

Quick update on this. I've now installed 14.0.10 and still have the same volume to the max issue.

I have the same issue.. LYNC keeps on jumping to Max Volume every few minutes during a call..

super inconvenient..

I wonder why it does this?  I have a mac user getting the same thing.  yeah, annoying.

I have the same problem in Lync for Mac 14.0.11.  I wish Microsoft would give this some attention.  I often use headphones for my conference calls and the unwelcome volume change *hurts*!
