Volatile Environment settings are changing during user logon.
Greetings all, I have a user that is experiencing an issue with their Volatile Environment key that holds the Home drive and home share information. These settings should be set by a plicy that sets the home drive to H: and share to \\servername\usersshare . These key settings are not changing at every logon, just sometimes. There is a logon script that is using the H: drive, it's log indicates that the H: drive does not exist when the script is processed.I am seeing this event during logon for the user, Event 40960 - The Security System detected an authentication error for the server ldap/***. The failure code from authentication protocol Kerberos was "An attempt was made to logon, but the netlogon service was not started. As well as events 6006 - Windows detected your registry file is still in use by other applications or services. The file will be unloaded now. The applications or services that hold your registry file may not function properly afterwards. 2 user registry handles leaked from \Registry\User\S-1-5-21-2002034099-1741304011-708699545-13426: Process 1392 (\Device\HarddiskVolume3\Windows\System32\svchost.exe) has opened key \REGISTRY\USER\S-1-5-21-2002034099-1741304011-708699545-13426\Software\Policies Process 1392 (\Device\HarddiskVolume3\Windows\System32\svchost.exe) has opened key \REGISTRY\USER\S-1-5-21-2002034099-1741304011-708699545-13426\Software As a work around, I am rebuilding the users profile, this appears to rewrite the Volatile Environment key to the proper settings, they will hold for a while but then they are an issues again in a few days.Any thoughts on this issue, I can really use some help. Thanks in advance!
