Vista updates in April. Outlook and IE7 doesn't work but Microsoft Update does.
Hi, My name is Tonni, and I udated my Windows Vista home edition PC earlier this week, and now I cannot connect to the net, or get new mails in my Outlook. I've tried to remove Security updates and Vista updates, but with no effect. There are 2 updates which I cannot even remove!? I've seen others have had this problem before, but has any this problem now, and does anybody know which update I should remove, or what I should do? Microsoft suggest I ran my Recovery Manager, but that is from last year, and I am not to comfortable having to do this. Please help!

Some questions: 1. Is it 64 bit machine or 32 bit machine? 2. Whether you have other network driver from third part application etc? If you go to event log (Refer http://support.microsoft.com/kb/308427in case notfamilar with event log viewer) to see whether you get some error msg. Pls paste here if your network still didn't work.

In answer to your questions, then I honestly don't know, whether it is a 32 or 64 bit machine. I do know I don't have other network drivers from third part applications. I've looked in the event log, but couldn't really find anything dramatic. What I've done since I posted this thread, is to remove additional Security Updates, and now IE7 work, but Outlook still doesn't. I've read that if I wish to uninstall Service pack 3, I have to uninstall the whole Office 2003 package, something I'd rather not do. Has somebody in this forum any experience of this, and what can be done to resolve this? Regards, Tonni.
