Vista unable to see none Windows servers when on a domain
We've got a SNAP server on our network which we are unable to access after we connect to a domain. Before the machines were put onto the domain we were able to map to the server without any problems, but once the machines are added to the domain it keeps asking for a username and password. The server is setup to allow domain admins full access, but none of the domain admin accounts will give us access. We've had no problems using this setup with Windows XP/2000 machines.

I think I have a similar situation - but I think part of the problem may be in the way the server is accessed. Take a look the next time you boot Vista at who you're logging in as. Are you logging in as \DOMAIN\username or is it \MACHINE\username ? I've set up Vista to join a domain, and yet when I log in, I'm still logging into the local machine. And yet, at the same time, I do have access to my server.

Well when i log into my vista machine i use games\administrator and it works where as if you type administrator it will default to local machine and since its disabled by default i can't login to the account by the way games is my netbios domain name not the full dns name games.local

I've joined a Beta 2 machine to a production network and have no problems directly mapping a network drive. The only thing that doesn't like the computer is my Desktop Authority. It freaks out on the OS. Johnny
