Vista to XP one folder has documents not accessible permission message
I have a fully networked HP laptop that is on a wireless link. My Desktop a Sony VIAO has the shaired printer and all of it's shaired files can be accessed over the private LAN from the Vista Home Premium Laptop. The Work Group shows this PC The defaultpublic Vista Documents folder is accessable and filed are transferable. The Users has the default and public. I have followed every lead and come up at dead ends. Sure would like to have the Pictures on the wifes drive accessible in her folder as a mapped drive from the XP PC with the more powerful software in a quieter enviornment. Any leads? I have tried many. What have I missed?

There are 2 types of file sharing available in XP pro, simple file sharing and share file with user/group permissions, advise you to try simple file sharing and see whether it works. Also beware of firewall blocking (Windows firewall, antivirus firewall, etc).

XP sharing is good. Vista sharing is fixed. At this point all is solved. I reapplied my sharing on the folder in Vistagiving me troubleadding "everyone" again and it took this time. Go figure. Vista takes somegetting use toand a bit of patience and persistence. I knew I was on the right track. All Mapped and functioning. Thanks for your reply.
