Vista share access lost after period of idle time
Hi, I have an issue accessing a share on Vista Business. After a period of inactivity, usually over night, with the Vista computer, I can no longer access the share. I have to reboot the Vista system to get to the share again. At the point when the share is no longer available, I can still access just about any other network application on the Vista box like Remote Desktop, FTP, HTTP, etc. Just not the file share. After about ten minutes windows explorer comes back with the message that \\vistacomputer\share cannot be found. The Vista computer is in a domain along with many other systems of mixed Windows type. The share is setup with all the correct permissions and I am able to access it from other systems when the Vista computer is first started. I checked to make sure that the power settings were set so that the network card is not turned off after a period of inactivity - and again I can still access other network functions so I think this is fine. There must be some setting somewhere that I am missing.Any ideas? I am adding a few gray hairs every day from this one. Thanks.
