Vista not picking up my anti-virus and spyware programs
Hi, I've got vista home premium and had no problems with my anti virus software. Then a few days agothe security centre hasstopped detecting my anti-virus (i'm using avg free edition 7.5), i uninstalled it then re-installed it but to no success. Also windows defender is turned off, when i go to turn it on it says searching for definitions then says there are no new definitions to download and won't turn it on. I've recently started usinf a modem router but can't see that this is causing a problem. My computer is all up to date with vista updates. Anyones help on this would be apprecited as i'm not sure if i'm protected. Thanks

AVG's not the problem as defender stopped working at the same time. it was a vista problem or virus.

Hi, I have Vista Home Premium running and just installed a paid version of Quick Heal 9 (part of Vista promotion), it is not detected. However, during the period I was using the trial version Vista recognized it and was OK. Please advise how to resolve

Hi, I'm having the same problem as you but I have Windows Home Basic edition. Have you been able to resolve the problem and if so how? I've been searching the net for weeks for advice on this. Milndavie
