Vista not keeping static ip information
My vista desktop has been working fine for a year and recently I can't get on the internet. My static ip info won't stick. Or bits of the info keep going going blank such as the default gateway.
It's just my desktop connected to my modem. No router. No connection problems from my isp to me. Far as I can tell no viruses.
I've tried turning off my kapersky firewall and nothing helps.

Hi,
As this issue occurs recently, system restore can be under consideration.
This problem can happen if you assigned an invalid or an ip address that has been taken by any of your workstations. What will happen if you set it to obtain IP address automatically.
Can you use other internet application like MSN?
If only IE,
refer to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/923737 to reset IE.
For further troubleshoot, reinstall network card driver or update to the latest version.
Regards,
