Vista networking issues...
I have a couple of issues here. First, I have a wireless network set up at home that wife & I use our laptops with. My WIndows 7 (Ultimate) (& her mini WIn7 (Starter) laptop) automatically connect to our wireless network, but for some reason, her Vista laptop will not. You have to go in & manually connect each & every time! From what I remember, this wasn't always the case - did a MS update 'fix' this? Second issue involves a Vista Ultimate laptop that one of my clients uses at home & at work. Work environment is a 2008 SBS & laptop is a member of the domain. She has 3 network drives mapped & when ever she starts up, mapped drives have red X's on them. If you double click mapped drive, you get the message 'An error occurred while reconnecting to M: to \\Server\shared_folder The network path was not found. The connection has not been restored'. Usually, restarting a couple of time will fix this, and again, this is not a problem with any WIn7 or XP laptops on the network. Any suggestions (besides upgrading to Win7!) Thanks-

Wow! 62 replies & not one answer?!?!? I think someone ought to bring a class action suit against Microsoft, with plaintiffs receiving free Windows 7 upgrades & lawyers being paid in Vista upgrades (ha-ha!).

I can try clean boot, but the Windows 7 Starter, along with my Windows 7 Ultimate connect automatically just fine. It's the Vista laptop that has to manually connect each & every time...

Ok, tried the clean boot & nothing changed. What I did find is in the Manage Wireless Networks section was about 50 different instances of my wireless network! Deleted them all out, re-connected, rebooted & it's now working like it should. Any suggestions on my other situation?
