Vista network performance maximum 200KB/sec on gigabit
Hi all!I have Windows Vista Ultimate (x86) installed on my machine, and I'm suffering severe network problems at home after installing Vista, with XP everything worked fine. The following situation:Win2k3 server / network router, which takes care of internet routing and filesharing. This PC is a Sempron 3000+ with 2 gig mem and 2 RAID0 Maxtor 200gig. The internal network card of the server is a 3com gigabit NIC, connected on a 3com gigabit ethernet switch.Workstation:Windows vista ultimate (X86), including all patchesAsus M2N SLI DeluxeAMD 3800+ X22 Gig MemoryAsus Nvidia 7600 GS SilentUsing the Asus' onboard NIC (latest NForce drivers)When downloading, copying files from the server, browsing in IE or Firefox, my network is very, very, very slow (200 kilobyte / second MAX). On my laptop, copying files from the server share to it's local is consuming the full 100mbit (laptop maximum).This concludes to me that my workstation is the bottleneck "somewhere". I have already tried the trick with the autotuning:netsh interface tcp set global autotuninglevel=offBut it didn't work out. My netsh global is now showing the following:TCP Global Parameters----------------------------------------------Receive-Side Scaling State : enabledChimney Offload State : enabledReceive Window Auto-Tuning Level : disabledAdd-On Congestion Control Provider : noneECN Capability : disabledRFC 1323 Timestamps : disabledNetstat shows the following:TCP 127.0.0.1:50010 Willem-PC:50011 ESTABLISHEDTCP 127.0.0.1:50011 Willem-PC:50010 ESTABLISHEDTCP 127.0.0.1:50012 Willem-PC:50013 ESTABLISHEDTCP 127.0.0.1:50013 Willem-PC:50012 ESTABLISHEDTCP 192.168.16.176:49300 SERVER:netbios-ssn ESTABLISHEDTCP 192.168.16.176:50139 SERVER:epmap ESTABLISHEDTCP 192.168.16.176:50141 SERVER:1025 ESTABLISHEDipconfig /all:Host Name . . . . . . . . . . . . : Willem-PCPrimary Dns Suffix . . . . . . . :Node Type . . . . . . . . . . . . : HybridIP Routing Enabled. . . . . . . . : NoWINS Proxy Enabled. . . . . . . . : NoConnection-specific DNS Suffix . :Description . . . . . . . . . . . : NVIDIA nForce Networking Controller #2Physical Address. . . . . . . . . : 00-17-31-F9-1F-7CDHCP Enabled. . . . . . . . . . . : YesAutoconfiguration Enabled . . . . : YesLink-local IPv6 Address . . . . . : fe80::110f:6cf2:dedc:61a%9(Preferred)IPv4 Address. . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.16.176(Preferred)Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0Lease Obtained. . . . . . . . . . : maandag 12 februari 2007 18:51:48Lease Expires . . . . . . . . . . : dinsdag 13 februari 2007 1:56:48Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.16.45DHCP Server . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.16.5DHCPv6 IAID . . . . . . . . . . . : 234886961DNS Servers . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.16.45NetBIOS over Tcpip. . . . . . . . : Enabled- I have tried installing the latest nForce 570 drivers from nVidia -> didn't work- I have tried another network cable (same as laptop and another) -> didn't workI'm really desperate now, can someone help me out?

Similar to me. My network run on Server 2003 with XP and new Vista workstation. slow connection between the following (<200kb/s): - Vista to Server 2003 But, with normal connection between the following (about 2mb/s): - Vista to XP - XP to Server 2003. I am not sure whether router problem as description in http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/932134, is applicable to me in this case. I will test the Vista direct connection to Server 2003 to confirm.
