Vista laptop not connecting to internet
HiHave a Vista laptop and XP desktop connecting through a netgear netgear broadband router. The XP machine connects to the internet without a problem so I know there is nothing wrong with the network. The Vista machine will not connect by a wireless connection via a netgear wireless access point but will connect by ethernet. I know there is nothing wrong with the access point as I can get an XP laptop to connect. The Vista machine is a Dell and when I run the wireless card configuration diagnostics utility it returns a message that the connection is failing because of the IP gateway. I have disabled the firewall and TCP/IP6 so that it is only using TCP/IP4. It connects to the wireless access point as a local connection.I'm now close to tearing my hair out with this one as I can't figure out why I can't get it to connect. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance for your help.Steve
