My Computer show 2 hard drives;C: drive "access denied" and D: drive "Recovery". I can't access system restore, and application software. Under Window Security: "can't open access control editor, access denied" appears when clicked. I am the only administrator, but have no administrator priviledge. Help correct C drive and access? admin priviledge? I am trying not lose data by reinstalling everything.

Hi, Did you do anything before this happened? (driver update, windows update etc..). On what partition do you have Vista installed?

Can you try holding down F8 while booting up which will take you into safe mode and see if you can access your programs and applications thus. While you are at it, run acomplete AV scan in safe mode to rule any anti viral/anti spyware trouble. Also if you can, I would create another admin profile, reboot and try accessing the explorer/ programs.
