Vista hotspot wireless probs on Packard Bell
I've just gotten a brand new Packard Bell from PC World with Vista. I can't make it work at home on my Toucan broadband (I'm working on that). So I tried going to starbucks to use their T-Mobile network, and then to Coffee republic to use theirs. Both times I can see the network, but when I connect to it, I can't get through to the internet. A message suggests that I might need to launch a browser window (presumably to pay & login to these networks), but when I do that I just get the message that I can't connect to the internet. This laptop has a Ralink Wireless Lan Card v2 I've tried to disable Norton, but can't actually find that in control panel (is that NIS2007?) so I don't know what to uninstall. Suggestions very gratefully received.

I would suggest contacting your internet company and check to see if the modem you have is compatible with Vista, I would also ask them about maybe a firmware update to the modem or router would be up to date with Vista. This is kinda the same for the coffee shop find out if anyone has connected to it. Check with Packard Bell for uninstall reinstall for the driver
