Vista can not see my network
From other machines on my LAN , I can see the Vista computer and transfer files. From the computer with Vista loaded, when I try to find other computers on the LAN I get the message "Windows cannot find any networks". I am filing this message from the Vista computer, so I have I'net access, just not LAN access. Any comments or helpful suggestions please.

Can you reach other computers on the LAN via UNC paths?

Just a few questions: Do you have a domain server (i.e. Win 2k or 2k3 server ) on the LAN? Or is everything pretty much peer to peer? Are there accounts on the server (or the other workstation) that give you the proper privilegeds on the other machine(s)? Has the trust relationship between the machines been broken somehow? Need more data to try figuring out what's going on...

when vista found your network did you make it public or private, becuase the settings are oppisate, public will lock down sharing and such while private will be less restrictive, check your network center to see what settings are set to the network
