Hi, Based on some feedback, this issue can be caused by if one of the factors is true. 1. Incorrect account settings 2. Misconfiguration of personal firewall software 3. Antivirus software 4. Your user profile in Outlook is damaged 5. An e-mail item on your POP3 server is damaged I suggest you take a clean boot to narrow down the problem. Test issue in Clean Boot ============================= 1. Click Start, type "MSCONFIG" (without the quotations) in the Search Bar and Press "Enter" to start the System Configuration Utility. 2. Click the "Services" tab, check the "Hide All Microsoft Services" box and click "Disable All" (if it is not gray). 3. Click the "Startup" tab, click "Disable All" and click "OK". 4. Restart the computer and test the issue. Note: Clean Boot is a troubleshooting step. If some programs have been disabled, we can re-enable them later. If you see the System Configuration Utility, check the box of "Don't show this message" and then click "OK". Please monitor the system in the Clean Boot environment. If the problem does not occur, it indicates that the problem is related to one application or service we have disabled. You may use the MSCONFIG tool again to re-enable the disabled item one by one to find out the culprit. If the issue still persists, I suggest you post the issue on our Office Discussion Groups instead of Windows Vista forum. Then mainly focus on the Microsoft Office issue. Thank you for your understanding. Hi, Regarding the issue, you can try to take the following suggestions: Open Command Prompt with Run as Administrator, type the command arp d * and press Enter. Now, try to ping the DNS and check the result. Hope it helps.

Hi, Do you have another known computer in the network? If so, could you ping that computer without problem? Then, please try to test this issue in Safe Mode. Run Windows Vista Safe Mode with Network ================================ 1 Detach all unnecessary peripheral devices from your computer, such as printers, scanners and removable storage devices. 2 Restart the computer. 3 Keep pressing the F8 key until the Windows Startup menu appears. 4 Choose Safe Mode with Network, and press Enter. 5 Test this issue in Safe Mode. If the issue still persists, in order to narrow down the problem, please run the command ipconfig /all on Windows Vista and Windows XP, post the results here. Thank you for your cooperation.

Hello Robinson Zhang I did ping in safe mode with network, but i couldn't ping i got the following: X:\sources\recovery\tools>ping 192.168.100.1 Unable to contact IP driver, error code 1753 I can ping any computer on network normally. *Note:F8 didn't work with coz i have to choose between XP or vista, so i press TAB to go to the menu where i can select to start in safe mode. I used to do he following to read my outlook inbox: 1- open network, wait till vista discover computers on LAN. 2- start cmd and ping 192.168.100.1 , DNS server. 3- if DNS replies the pinging then i open outlook. this method don't work all time, sometimes i cant't get replies from DNS, even if i open network and list all computers on LAN. Hi, Before moving on, I suggest you manually assign Primary Dns Suffix to the computer. 1. Click Start, right click Computer and choose Properties. 2. Click Advanced system settings. 3. Click the Computer Name tab. 4. Click Change, and then click More. 5. Please modify the Primary Dns Suffix settings. 6. After applying these changes, restart the computer. Then, please let me know whether is DNS server is a computer and its operating system. Thanks. As many factors can cause this network problem, I suggest enabling Netmon on both machines to capture the network packets for further research: NOTE: If your DNS server is not Windows Server, please only collect information from Windows Vista computer. 1) Download NetMon3.1 from the following website and install it on the Windows Vista and Windows Server machines: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=18b1d59d-f4d8-4213-8d17-2f6dde7d7aac&DisplayLang=en 2) Log onto the machines, right-click the Netmon icon and select Run as Administrator to launch NetMon3.1. 3) In the Microsoft Network Monitor 3.1 window, click Create a new capture tab 4) In the new tab, select all the Network Adapters in the Select Networks window. 5) After that, press F10 to start NetMon. Note: Please start NetMon on both machines. 6) On the Windows Vista machine, please try to ping DNS server to reproduce the issue. 7) Go back to the NetMon window and press F11 to stop the NetMon. 8) Press Ctrl+S to save the Netmon file and upload them to the following space: https://sftus.one.microsoft.com/choosetransfer.aspx?key=03277419-1481-424e-8933-0c095f606fb0 Password: W[xUX3{]IGx In addition, please understand that analyze/troubleshoot this kind of issue may be time consuming. If it is urgent, Id like to recommend that you contact Microsoft Customer Support Service for instant assistance. To obtain the phone numbers for specific technology request please take a look at the website listed below: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=fh;EN-US;PHONENUMBERS Thanks.

Hi, Thank you for your update. According to your description, the issue is very likely caused by your router or DNS server. Given the situation, I suggest you contact networking administrator to check whether there is a rule or limitation on router and DNS server. Thanks.
