Vista Wireless Logon Box Missing
Hi,We have recently begun work on deploying Vista and I have produced an image of Vista Business SP2 that is working. My problem is it needs to connect to a wireless domain (using 802.1x with the EAPFAST/TKIP config). I can get it to connect to the wireless domain without any problem but when I reboot the machine, I get 2 logon prompts: 1 for ethernet logon to the domain and the other is Fingerprint logon. There is no wireless logon. If I then leave the laptop alone until the screen saver comes on, when I move the mouse to make the screen come back on, the wireless logon prompt is now there using the profile I have set up.I am using an IBM Thinkpad X200 Tablet and have configured the wireless profile using the Access Connections software which is configured to use the profile to connect during windows logon. We had been using the Odyssey client in the past to connect to the network at windows xp logon but our director wants to use the built in EAPFAST Functionality. Can anyone please help as to find out why the wireless logon prompt to appear?ThanksPaul

Hi Paul, Thank you for posting. Regarding this issue, I would like to share the following information with you: Joining a Windows Vista Wireless Client to a Domain http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb727033.aspx Please also try to configure a Bootstrap Wireless Profile to see if it helps. If the issue persists, please also capture a screenshot on the logon screen for our further research. You can use Windows Live SkyDrive (http://www.skydrive.live.com/) to upload the file and share its URL with us. Hope this helps. Thanks.Nicholas Li - MSFT

HI Nicholas,Thanks for the reply. The problem is I have already created a Vista Wireless profile for this laptop. This profile should apply at logon so the option to log on wirelessly is available whena user boots the laptop. At the moment, I boot the laptop and get 1 clear icon. I should get 2 clear icons: 1 for Ethernet logon and 1 for Wireless. When the laptop boots, I get one icon. I click this and see the Ethernet domain logon screen: http://cid-0bf48e013688b86a.skydrive.live.com/self.aspx/.Public/Ethernet%20logon.PNG.If i leave the laptop alone for about 10 mintues until it goes onto the screen saver, when I move the mouse to wake the laptop up there are now 2 clear icons on the screen: http://cid-0bf48e013688b86a.skydrive.live.com/self.aspx/.Public/initial%20logon.JPG. When I click into this second icon I receive the Wireless domain logon screen: http://cid-0bf48e013688b86a.skydrive.live.com/self.aspx/.Public/wireless%20Logon.PNG.I need the Vista to show the 2 icons when the laptop boots up. At the moment there is a 10 minute delay before it shows me the wireless logon icon. I need to get rid of this delay. Is there a setting in Vista that will apply the profile properly when it boots?ThanksPaul
