Vista Wireless - WLAN AutoConfig refuses to start
I recently installed some antivirus software and some MS updates, now my wifi connection does not work. I try to diagnose it, and it says Windows Wireless Service isn't running. I click to run it, and it says it cannot fix the problem. I have researched a bit and the root of the problem seems to be with the service WLAN AutoConfig, which is disabled for some reason. When I try to run it, it returns an error: "Windows could not start WLAN Autoconfig on this Local Computer" Error : 0xc00ce508Any ideas?

thetroubleshooting step above has fixed some but not all. you may try my suggested solution below and see if it works on your end. this is more convenient on your end since you won't worry about losing your data. perform the startup repair in windows vista. Running Startup Repair in the Microsoft Windows Vista Recovery Environment (WinRE) Restart the computer. Tap the <F8> key during startup until the Windows Advanced Options menu appears. (If the Windows Advanced Options menu does not appear, restart the computer, and try again.) Press the <Down Arrow> keyuntil Repair Your Computer is highlighted, and press the<Enter> key. When the System Recovery Options window appears, click to select your language, and click Next. Log in as a user with administrative rights, and click OK. (The Windows Vista Recovery Environment appears.) From the Choose a recovery tool menu, click Startup Repair. (Startup Repair proceeds to check the system for issues and resolve them.) Once completed, click Finish. Click Restart. after a successful restart, you can start configuring your wireless connection. disclaimer: this method may only work with Dell computers that have Vista pre-installed. For other computers, i'm not sure if this works or not but you can give it a shot. (i'm a Dell fan btw...hehe)
