Did you checked the driver of your wifi device?

Yes I do. I also check the firmware level of my modem/router. I'm working with the latest version of both.

Marc,
I have a new Sony Vaio with Vista Home Premium and I am having the same challenges you're describing. Windows Vista Wi-Fi management is extremely poor. Windows XP is MUCH superior.
On my Vaio I usually place my laptop in hibernation when not in use. Opon reactivating, the Wi-Fi connection is VERY erratic. Sometimes it refuses to find the Wi-Fi connection (even tho my wife's PC is on and connected) but most times it finds it (immediately) but then drops it. When this happens on RARE occasions it finds it again and reconnects, but more often than not I have to manually initiate a new connection.
I would LOVE To find a third-party Wi-Fi connection manager for my system but I have no idea if it's even possible. I would have to check with Sony and that's not always an enjoyable experience.
If anyone knows of a third-party connection manager that works with most internal Wi-Fi cards I would LOVE to hear about it.
Paul

Hi all,
I would like to know what model of the network adapter and wireless AP is being used in the environment. I suggest contacting the wireless AP manufacturer to confirm if the product is fully compatible with Windows Vista.
If the wireless AP are compatible with Windows Vista, please refer to the following KB article for troubleshooting:
You may experience connectivity issues or performance issues when you connect a mobile PC that is running Windows Vista to a wireless access point

Hope it helps.

Thanks Joson. I check that with the provider (Philips) and it's compatible. As Paul said I'm pretty sure teh problem is related to power management. I cancel all hibernation, power management and it is already better but not 100% resolved.
