Vista VPN Setup Fails
I'm trying to setup a VPN connection on a new Vista Business (SP1) laptop. I've first installed the RSA Authentication Agent 6.1.2 (EAP Client). Now, when I try to run the VPN setup wizard, it doesn't set it up.Using the wizard, these are the steps I've followed:1) On the "Chose a connection option", I clicked "Connect to a workplace"2) When promped for "How do you want to connect", I click "Use my internet connection (VPN)".3) For the prompt "Type the Internet address to connect to", I provide the IP address provided by my System Administrator (who, by the way, was unable to assist in getting this issue resolved so I'm on my own). Also, I checked the box "Don't connect now; just setup so I can connect later"4) In the "Type your user name and password" screen, I entered the User name, password, and domain, then clicked "Create".5) I receive an error from the wizard stating "The wizard cannot connect", with options to "Try Again", "Diagnose the problem", or "Setup the connection anyway". I chose the latter.6) At this point, the wizard ends but no connection has been setup.Any ideas?

... There is no RSA SecurID EAP Client for Vista (32&64bit) in the moment. RSA Authentication Agent 6.1.2 is designed for Windows XP + Server 2003. For Vista you have to go with 7.0. But unfortunately, the 7.0 doesn't include the EAP client yet... I'm also waiting for the EAP Client for Windows XP 64Bit. RSA AuthenticationAgent 6.4 is designed for it, but again, it doesn't include the EAP client. EAP Clients for 6.4 and 7.0 are announced for third quarter 2008, so there is still hope... I cannot imagine why RSA Corp. is that lazy... Kind Regards, Wolfgang

Does it mean that the EAP Client for Windows Server 2003 is not available as well and will only be available somewhere in October?

Thanks, Wolfgang. I suspected this was the case but I didn't think it should stop me from defining the VPN in Vista. I didn't think Vista would know I'm using RSA until I attempted to modify the properties (following a successful setup). -golfaholic

Additional update... I contacted Microsoft Support. They had me uninstall Symantec Antivirus. I was then able to define a VPN using the setup wizard. I then reinstalled Symantec.

Hi, I tried uninstalling Symantec. But still facing the same prob. I have also turned off UAC (read from another posting) and turned on Terminal Services. Anyone has any idea what are other services that needs to be running or steps to set this up? This is most weird.
