Hi, Thank you for posting. Firstly, please check the following: 1. Ensure the computer is point to the correct internal DNS server for name resolution. 2. Ensure the domain.com zone exists on the DNS server. 3. Confirm the necessary DNS records (especially the A and SRV records for DCs are available). 4. Check IPSec. If IPSec is enabled for DNS servers, the client may encounter problems when joining computers to the domain. 5. Please check if you can ping your DC and DNS server successfully. 6. Please run nslookup domain.com and check if it resolves the correctly. Regarding the issue, please try the following to narrow down it: 1. If you have more than one NICs, please just leave the one which is in use and disable others. 2. Please assign the DNS server IP address to the Network connection manually to see if it works. 3. If you dont use IPv6, please disable it. Disable IPv6 ======== 1) Go to Control Panel - Network Connections. 2) Right-Click on the connection and click Properties. 3) Uncheck the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Version 6 in the list and click OK. 4) Please reboot the computer to see if it works. 4. Open an elevated command prompt, type the following command, and then press ENTER: ipconfig /flushdns and then ipconfig /registerdns 5. If you use the wireless connection to join the domain, please disable it and use wired connection to try again. If the issue persists, please run ipconfig /all on both the Windows Vista computer and Windows Server 2008 computer and post the reports to the thread for our further research. Meanwhile, I will share the following information with you: Joining a Windows Vista Wireless Client to a Domain http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb727033.aspx Joining a Windows Vista Wired Client to a Domain http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb727031.aspx Hope this helps.
