Vista SP1 Local Network Access only after Sleep
Hi, I have 2 new Vista Business x86 SP1 HP Workstations on our network. These are the first Vista machines on our network. After they power save / sleep, they come back with local access only. No Internet Access. When I do an IPConfig /All it looks like there are two default gateways 0.0.0.0 and our correct 10.x.x.x. The network the systems are on are Windows 2003 AD based with DHCP from Windows 2003 Domain Controllers.I've gone in and disabled power management of the NIC, I've disabled IPv6 and I've reviewed several Microsoft technet articles. The current work around I have (besides rebooting the PC) is a batch script that does a ROUTE DELETE 0.0.0.0 and IPCONFIG / RENEW. This fixes the internet access until the PC sleeps again.Articles I've looked at KB933872 - The Hotfix there will not apply to the system - during install I get a does not apply message. Article 934430 - The symptoms don't match. Article 932063 - Wireless - Doesn't apply.Currently my only other fix for this problem is to disable all power save on the PC and simply only turn off the monitors. That though doesn't sound very green. Is there a fix for this out there (Besides setting a static IP) ?

Hi, KB933872 is included in Windows Vista SP1, so the update is not apply to your computer. Based on several customers feedback, some third party programs or services also can cause this problem. If you have installed these programs, please temporarily disable the them to test the issue. We can take a Clean Boot to narrow down whether it is a program or service problem. Test issue in Clean Boot ============================= 1. Click Start, type "MSCONFIG" (without the quotations) in the Search Bar and Press "Enter" to start the System Configuration Utility. 2. Click the "Services" tab, check the "Hide All Microsoft Services" box and click "Disable All" (if it is not gray). 3. Click the "Startup" tab, click "Disable All" and click "OK". 4. Restart the computer and test the issue. Note: Clean Boot is a troubleshooting step. If some programs have been disabled, we can re-enable them later. If you see the System Configuration Utility, check the box of "Don't show this message" and then click "OK". Please monitor the system in the Clean Boot environment. If the problem does not occur, it indicates that the problem is related to one application or service we have disabled. You may use the MSCONFIG tool again to re-enable the disabled item one by one to find out the culprit. If the issue still persists, please collect your Event Log for me. I will take a further research on it. Event Log ======================= 1. Click "Start", input "eventvwr" (without quotation marks) in the Start Search bar and press Enter. 2. Right click on "Application" on the left frame, choose "Save Log file As"; in the pop-up window, click to choose the Desktop icon on the left frame, input "app" in the "File name" blank, and then click save. 3. Right click on "System", with the same method, save it as "sys". 4. Locate the two saved log files on the Desktop and upload them to the following link: https://sftus.one.microsoft.com/choosetransfer.aspx?key=b43b0a0c-419d-407e-92d2-4d584a3b6b47 Password: lBDlh[yxGxF5tS_ Your cooperation is highly appreciated.
