Vista RC1 and SPI Routers--FIX!
As was discussed below in the forum, many SPI firewall/Routers bock IP/UDP traffic from Vista. I disabled the IPv6 and IPv4 checksum and offloads in net properties and was fortunate to get RC1 connected to the net.My router is the Netgear FVS-114 VPN firewall and I'm testing Vista on both AMD and Intel x64 machines.SO, before you do as I did, keep this in mind:Vista is still Beta-Code.If you have ping and tracert (Low level transport) but IE or Firefox either WON'T connect OR, as in my case VERY SLOW to display pages, try this fix.I'm a Suse Linux fan, but realize that my clients will likely be using Vista, so rather than slam MS, I'll keep on testing and educating myself about it so I can be the HERO to my customers. She is a beauty, no doubt about it, now let's help her get out of the house and out on the town.Jim
