Vista Pro LPD ID 4009
I am using Vista Pro SP2 WORKGROUP computer to receive print jobs from multiple domains and systems. In order to bypass Windows authentication, I am using LPD/LPR which is supported by Windows out of the box, but it is only partially working. I can print to the private side (192.168.254.20) using LPR on my test client just fine. When I try to print to the public side (172.28.244.11) from my test wks or other computers, servers of workstations, LPR will not connect getting the Event ID 4009 about specified printer does not exist. I am getting ID 2004 on the client as expected.I can print on the public side using Windows authentication, but we cannot do that as we are supporting different domains and systems.
