Vista PC and XP PC not connecting to each other
I have a PC that is running Windows XP Professional (SP3) and is hard wired to a Linksys Range Plus Wireless Router (Model No. WRT110). The router is connected to the internet. I have another PC that runs Windows Vista Ultimate (SP1) that connects to the router wirelessly. I am able to connect to the internet from both computers with no problems. Both computers are set to the same workgroup. From the XP PC, I can see the Vista PC, and I can connect to it and access the Vista PC's hard drive and printers. From the Vista PC, I can only see the XP PC intermittently, and I can never connect to it, nor can I connect to it's printers. Both computers are "shared" as best as I can tell.Does anyone have any suggestions regarding how I can get the Vista PC to connect to the XP PC so I can connect to the XP PC's printer? Thanks for any help provided.

Hi, I suggest that you disable the firewall and anti-virus on the Windows XP computer. Then test if the issue still occurs. If the issue persists, please enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP on the Windows XP computer. Please refer the following website to enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb727013.aspx If the issue still occurs after you enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP, please let me know the way you connect to the other computer. Whether you have enabled Guest, or you are using same username/password to access the network computers? If you enabled Guest, please check access permissions and local permissions of the shared folder and printer. Please make sure that Guest is allowed to access them. If the above information does not help, in Windows Vista, click Start, in the Start Search box type \\[IP address of Windows XP computer]\[share name of the shared folder] to access the shared folder on the Windows XP computer. If any error message is received, please let me know the exact error message/symptoms.
