Vista Not allowing access to the Web via browsers.
I have a Vista Home premimum SP2 machine that will not connect to the internet no matter what browser I use. (IE, firefox, Chrome etc.) It use to. It just says "Internet explorer cannot display the webpage". If you click on Diagnoise connection problem it says "Windows did not find any problems with this computers netwrok connection." It is connected to the network and it will perform windows updates. (downloads updates and installs them) An FTP attempt from a dos window fails as well. I am using a Linksys router (WRT54GP2) that has 3 wireless laptops and 3 wired LAN systems that all perform just fine. This is the only Vista OS machine. The others are WINXT and Win7. Any and all advice is Greatly appreciated. Thanks Sonny Lee

Hi Sonny, Can you ping any of the websites you wish to connect to? If so, it would signify that you have a problem with something such as a proxy server. Proxy servers are configured through Internet options > LAN Settings. Hope this helps, CathalCathal O'Brien BSc, PgDip, PhD . Techsmart IT Support | Computer Repairs
