Vista Network
I cilcked on Network on my computer and it showed 23 little computer screen icons with names like Bubba, Gerald-PC, Anderson, Tamara, Router, Underwood1, etc. What are all these things? I just have one home PC with DSL connection and one printer connected. When I click on some of the little compter screen icons, I get messages like "Windows cannot access Donna-PC". Other computer screen icons I click on show different folders like sample pictures, sample videos, etc. Should I have all these things on my network if I only have one PC connected to DSL? Can anyone help me understand why I have all those different icons with people names under Network ? Thank you.

u should be asking ur ISP/ DSL operator? the names are most likely PC host names of computers accessing the internet via that DSL operator at that instant.it poses a security threat though both to you, other subscribers and even ur ISP.just keep ur sensitive files in UNSHARED FOLDERS,turn on all firewalls..u shud b fineTunde Abagun MCP,MCSA,MCTS,MCITP en p "for the love of Computers"

Thank you Drtunababa. I called my ISP operator and he was clueless. I turned on Windows Firewall and turned off network discovery and file sharing and don't see those host names any more.
