Vista Licensing to WIndows 7?
I want to know what Microsoft is planning to do with Windows 7 licensing. I honestly think MS should seriously discount the license upgrade price from Vista to Windows 7 as most people have not been on Vista that long. I think if MS tries to charge full price for a jump from Vista to 7, most people are going to feel cheated. I know if this happens, I am going to be incredibly disappointed and will probably convert more of my machines to linux. With all the Vista problems, it hasn't been until recently Vista has been stable and runs half decent. The key word is recently. As most people, we fought with upgrade issues, driver problems, etc and it took a significant amount of time. They should make up for it by drastically lowering the price from V to 7.

RediculousDid you ask for a half price ticket to spiderman 3 because spiderman 2 was rubbish? The simple answer i think is that if you dont want to pay for it, dont get it and stick to Vista.People will pay for the OS if they really want it.I for one don't mind paying full whack for the ultimate edition if it improves on Vista This Is Your Life And Its Ending One Minute At A Time

I disagree. Vista was never a fully working product and never delivered what was promised. If you went to buy a car and it was missing a seat, would you expect to pay full price and never complain? Vista was suppose to have a much longer lifespan and they are killing it early to save face.

Vistahas been getting abum rap ever since it's release. I bought a new computer with Vista installed back on Jan 30 07 and have been using it ever since. Never gave me a problem. I think the Vista capable ordeal was one of the first strikes against Vista, not to mention driver incompatibilities which are not MS fault.

While an upgrade would be nice (just speaking as a person who literally just bought a copy of Vista), but unfortunately even Microsoft doesn't know what the price and the versions that Windows 7 will come out with yet. Pricing Q: I noticed a couple blogs mentioning Windows 7 Upgrade Options or Tech Guarantee can you tell me more? A: We often explore options with our partners for how we offer products, but we have nothing to announce at this time.
